Automatic Bank Deduction

Enroll for auto bank to have your bill paid automatically from your checking or savings account each month. You’ll save time and ensure your bill payment is received on time with this free service. By enrolling, customers may also receive a one-time $25 Marshall Chamber Gift Check from MMU. Utility Billing Online

Visit to use a VISA or MasterCard credit/debit card to make a one time quick payment or create an account to view account details and allow for recurring bill payments. You will need your account number and last payment amount for quick pay and for creating an account.


Pay by Phone

Call 1-866-238-4097 to use your VISA or MasterCard credit/debit card to make your payment by phone. You will need your account number and street address. We are not able to accept credit/debit card payments over the phone at our local Customer Service phone number.


Check, Cash, Cashier’s Check or Money Order

  • By Mail – Mail your payment in the return envelope enclosed with your mailed bill, or mail to: Marshall Municipal Utilities, 113 South 4th St, Marshall, MN 56258. 
  • Drop Box – Located in the parking lot in front of MMU. Envelopes are provided at the drop box.
  • Drive Up Window or Indoor Lobby – Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, excluding holidays.

Other Billing and Payment Considerations

Paperless E-Billing

Customers may enroll in paperless billing to have your monthly bill delivered to your email instead of waiting for it to arrive in the mail. You can enroll by calling MMU Customer Service at 507-537-7005 or updating the contact preferences on your Utility Billing online account.


Budget Billing

Budget Billing is a service available for residential customers wishing to make the same monthly payment amount throughout the year. Monthly payment amounts are calculated based on the consumption history of the preceding 12 months. This plan begins in January and is reconciled the following December. Payment Plans

For customers who are having difficulty paying their bills, other payment plans may be available including the acceptance of partial payments and/or delaying payments. Payment plans will be offered to customers on an individual basis and must be mutually acceptable to both the customer and MMU. For more information, please contact the MMU Office.


Returned Payment Fee

If a payment is returned for insufficient funds or a closed account, a $20 fee will be added to the customer's bill.
